I always liked being outdoors and exploring nature. At the beginning, my camera was mainly a tool for documentation. But given the possibilities of digital photography, I got more and more interested in capturing and preserving all the facets and variations in nature. I also wanted to share this fascination and my experiences with others.
“Nature is always true and never trivial.” My work clearly focuses on nature and landscape photography. I am fascinated by what is right in front of us, by what is tangible and visible and is available to everyone. Miracles are not normally found in far away places. They are usually within our immediate reach and are just waiting to be discovered. The challenge is to make everyday places appear interesting and new. I want to create a special moment by looking at mundane things differently and with a new perspective.
I call various national parks, such as the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, the Jasmund National Park and the Müritz National Park in Northern Germany, my home. These places are very special to me and they offer the perfect conditions for my work. ZEISS lenses help me to keep up with the breathtaking diversity of nature and to capture it in a way that does it justice.

The Lofoten are a true El Dorado for photographers, even when the elusive Northern Lights don’t appear. ZEISS Camera Lens Ambassador Timm Allrich conducted a workshop and captured the beauty of the Lofoten Islands.
Timm Allrich spent a month in the countryside of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in northern Germany with the Distagon T* 2/25. In his impressive images, he reveals a perspective of dunes, the ocean and fields that is only possible with this focal length.
